About me
Rebecca Walton is head of the Acquisitions Department of the BYU Library and co-convener of the ACRL ULS Mid-Level Managers Discussion Group. After 11 years as an individual contributor and 3 years as a section manager, she stepped into the role of a department head in 2020, in the midst of Covid restrictions and staff retirements. Dealing with challenges is part of any workplace, but in this case the challenges were emphasized by an outdated organizational structure. Rebecca is passionate about creating a working environment where all employees can thrive, which she accomplished through a department reorganization in 2023 using leadership best practices and guided by her strategic vision.
